Green Age Design is part of the Carego Group of Companies. Carego is a leading supplier of Value Chain Management Solutions in Warehousing, Transportation and Technology Services for the Logistics Industry. Green Age Design complements the family of companies under the Carego brand and offers a “Green Dimension” to Carego’s suite of services.
Located in Hamilton, Ontario, Green Age Design was created based on the great success of Steelcare’s Plant 19. The plant is a fully-automated storage facility, and is the first commercial industrial facility in Canada to meet the gold certification criteria of the Canada Green Building’s Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating system for high performance green buildings.
In creating Plant 19, Green Age Design has successfully reduced energy and water consumption and cost. Compared to a conventional building of the same size that does not meet LEED certification, Plant 19 requires 56% less energy and 32% less water.
Plant 19 has paved the way to allow Green Age Design to offer its efficient and energy saving knowledge and techniques to assist other companies in creating a greener future. Our real-life, bricks and mortar facility is proof that industrial and commercial facilities can become more environmentally efficient and also realize financial benefits from an operational perspective.
